WTA Champs, Friday matches
Much to the dismay of a certain arse clown on this board, I can't really see past any of the three favourites today.
Sharapova (1.20) will have too much for Kuznetsova, who played as poorly as I have ever seen her play against Clijsters, winning a mere 4 points on the Belgian's serve.
Henin (1.60) has a lot to play for and I can't see her losing to the volatile Mauresmo who made hard work of things against Hingis, after being flogged by Petrova, whom Henin accounted for with ease.
Clijsters (1.15) needs a win to cement her position in the final 4. Kim has looked good these past couple weeks since returning from injury, while Dementieva never looked a chance against Sharapova or Kuznetsova.
Henin is probably the only one worth playing.
Henin, is in the semi's already, little to play for except pride--these two don't like each other. 5-5 career h2h. Amelie MUST win or she is out. If Henin reaches the final, she will end the yr numero uno--ie., her semi-final match tomm will have a lot on the line. I think Henin wins today, Amelie has not been in good form for some time now--you dont beat Henin with your 'b' game
Zabeel, i have not seen any of these matches this week--but you sure Kuz's loss was do to her poor play? That's not what i'm reading. Kim played sick tennis, had 4 ue's the whole match and won 92% on first serve (got first serve in at 75%). It seems may have been a combination of the two--anyway cant bow well for Elena today.
"I really felt like I had to play well today," Clijsters said. "Having a little bit of pressure of winning, I think that's another thing that really motivated me a lot. I was really ready to go and I was seeing the ball a lot better than I was yesterday."
Sharapova has to only win 1 set today and she advnaces to the semi's tomm.Maria has won 18 straight matches, longest streak on tour--tough to see anyone beating her here in Madrid.
no plays for me today
have a good day all
